Vestibular Rehabilitation is an exercise-based program designed by a specialty-trained vestibular physical therapist to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness.
Over 10 million patients yearly suffer from dizziness. It is the most common symptom in people over the age of 75 and it can occur at any age. Dizziness can be the result of an inner ear disorder, post-concussion, a side effect of medications, a sign of neck dysfunction or at times due to a more serious problem.
Balance dysfunction can gradually present as we age due to inactivity, fear of falling, muscle weakness sensory deficits, and visual problems.
