OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT

'ONERO™'
Bone Building Program

Licensee in Northern Colorado

Click here to provide basic information about your needs and condition.  We will get back to you.

Balance Center Physical Therapy is excited to offer Onero™, the leading bone building program developed by Dr. Belinda Beck in Australia.  Dr. Beck, a researcher in bone health at Griffith University, established the LiftMor trials in 2015.  Then using her research findings created Onero™, located at The Bone Clinic in Australia.  Balance Center PT is licensed by The Bone Clinic to provide this program according to their protocols  in Northern Colorado.

Onero is Latin for ‘load’, signifying the most important parameter required to improve or maintain bone mass or density.  Due to the work of Dr. Beck and her staff, this is a proven intervention for persons with low bone density .  This evidence-based program combines high intensity resistance with impact exercise.  The outcomes demonstrate improved bone mineral density, increased muscular strength, decreased fall risk.

According to the Onero™ protocol, the program is required to be in person and supervised by an accredited, licensed practitioner to ensure safety of participants.  The research supports that in order to improve bone mass, participation must be 2 times per week.

As an Onero™ Licensee, we contribute data to Dr. Beck’s ongoing research and have access to updates as they become available.

Balance your Osteoporosis - Healthy Bones for Life

For those individuals who due to experiencing other limiting conditions are unable to participate in the high intensity resistance Onero™ program we continue to offer skilled physical therapy interventions that are individualized and appropriate for your specific condition.  Based on advanced training in several programs including 'Osteo-Circuit', Pilates for Osteoporosis, BoneFit-USA, and Better Bones & Balance, this program offers education and individualized, safe exercises with emphasis on proper exercise techniques, safe body movements, basic nutrition and posture for individuals who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia (low bone density).  To determine each individual's unique needs and status, a thorough Physical Therapy Evaluation is performed at the initial visit.  Each evaluation and all exercise sessions are performed and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
